Yes, it's a bikini-themed Maddie Fenton picture. No, it wasn't something I whipped up in a few hours. I actually worked on this for nearly two weeks and scrapped roughly about dozen sketches before coming up with this one and even then I had to revise it multiple times. The thing is, I could've easily just drawn her posing on the beach. Problem is, I've kinda done that already. Twice. Hell, to be honest I've drawn Maddie in swimwear probably four or five times before. So yeah, I had to be careful not to repeat myself.
I was originally going to have Maddie drinking champagne and have a couple of cigars ready but in the end I was instructed to replace them with red wine. Yes, I had a certain city in my mind when I drew this pic. It's still evident if you look at some of the background elements.

Have you ever thought about uploading some of your scrapped sketches?
Trust me, they don't look good. Proportions are wrong, perspectives are wrong, the face looks wrong... besides, I usually stop working early on a sketch when I notice it's just not going to come together, meaning a lot of these things have only like Maddie's head and maybe some of her torso.
It's actually quite rare for a failed sketch of mine to be completely finished. That has only happened maybe two, three times. One time was with the Shego/Ron pic I made back in... I think it was in 2008, I actually posted the failed sketch on my blog. The second time I can remember this happening was with the DarkDP commission I made late this summer, but the failed sketch was pretty much identical with the finished pic, except there were some serious proportional problems and such and I found it easier to just copy the drawing on a blank paper and fix the issues there than waste time around Photoshop, tweaking and tuning all the little things (which is what I usually do with my sketches, there's always problems I see only after the pic has been scanned).
Also, some of the time when something gets scrapped, it's due to the paper getting worn out from too much erasing. I guess I'm applying too much pressure with my pencil because I need to erase hard to get most of the lines off.
